GreenWorks provided schematic design, construction documents and construction administration for this 230- acre park in Wilsonville. The park serves the community, as well as adjacent neighborhoods and schools, offers access to restored Oak savannah and woodland, wetlands, and riparian forests. The park strikes a delicate balance between access and restoration. Winding its way through the site, the Tonquin Trail provides regional access to the park. The park also provides secondary loop trails and forest hiking trails. The southern gateway provides a strong sense of place, as well as basic amenities like parking, restrooms, and a shelter. At the gateway, an interpretive plaza introduces visitors and students to the life and history of the park. Viewpoints, plazas, bridges, boardwalks and interpretive features throughout the site help visitors enjoy the unique attributes of the park. Regulatory permitting was provided with assistance from SWCA and KPFF. GreenWorks worked with Metro, The City of Wilsonville, The Wilsonville West Lynn School District and the consultant team to create a park that is unique, fills the needs of the community and restores the unique habitat of the site.
