Celia believes deeply in public spaces that are equitable, beautiful, and multifunctional. She brings her background in the sciences and her understanding of natural systems to the design process.

Celia Hensey

Celia is a landscape designer who works with design partners and public agencies to create spaces where both human and non-human communities can thrive.

Celia has investigated cultural landscapes in collaboration with the National Parks Service as part of the Cultural Landscapes Research Group at the University of Oregon. Her undergraduate research work in environmental biology explored how a collaborative approach to environmental restoration could lead to improved restoration outcomes as well as stronger community relationships.

Celia received an ASLA National Honor Award as part of the Overlook Field School at the University of Oregon for her work exploring the theme of wildfire recovery through public art installations.  Her subsequent pieces exploring this theme have been shown at the Laverne Krause Gallery at the University of Oregon.

Celia loves working at GreenWorks because she values being part of a creative and collaborative design team.

When Celia is not working on redlines or creating 3D visualizations she can be found at home in Hood River where she enjoys trying new recipes, spending time outside in the Gorge, and learning about viticulture.
