GreenWorks is providing design and master planning services to the Oregon State University Department of Horticulture for their new 6.2 acre site on the main campus. The new Center for Urban Horticulture will advance the principles of urban horticulture for sustainable farm and food systems through education, research, demonstration and community outreach. The facilities will present learning living classrooms for instruction, create a showcase of sustainable site systems integrated with horticulture, and encourage ecological diversity. The Oak Creek Center for Urban Horticulture is fundamentally a learning center, a place for students, the horticulture industry, and the general public to learn about the many facets of urban horticulture through classes, laboratory exercises, demonstrations, exhibits, displays, experiments, and workshops. The site plan and landscape approach incorporate inventive strategies to merge the diverse program needs with the site opportunities.
