Jigisha likes to take a broad lens, examining the totality of a landscape to inform design, from materials and topography to plants and animals

Jigisha Modi

Jigisha is a Landscape Designer who works with communities to build sustainable designs. She brings a unique ability to tune her designs across varying scales with compassion for all plants, animals, and people.

Jigisha believes in approaching sites holistically to design systems that live well into the future. She likes to take a broad lens, examining the totality of a landscape to inform design, from materials and topography to plants and animals.

In India, she gained design and build experience constructing institutions and residences in rural and semi-urban settings with underprivileged populations. Her current work focuses on creating distinctive environmental elements to cultivate sustainable landscapes. Through the University of Oregon, she worked with TriMet to research urban heat island effects and canopy cover for the Portland region.

Jigisha loves working at GreenWorks because of the focus on system, site and ecological design embedded throughout our work, as well as our propensity to look towards the future.

When Jigisha is not working in AutoCAD, Photoshop, or 3-D designs, she can be found smudging colors and spices for a new recipe, on a wilderness hike, or sketching and dreaming.
