107th Avenue Water Quality Facility – Vancouver, Washington

107th Avenue Water Quality Facility

The stormwater facility for the Cash & Carry site occurs entirely within a buffer for a wetland adjacent to the site. By creating a series of wetland ponds, runoff is cleansed prior to release into the existing wetland. Selection and layout of plant material corresponds directly with the native vegetation communities in the area. Trees cut down for construction were recycled within the wetland as standing snags and downed woody debris to provide further habitat opportunities. GreenWorks received a 1997 Metro Stormwater Design Award for this project.
