GreenWorks, as a subconsultant to an engineering firm, inventoried and analyzed the natural drainage systems related to the City of Ashland’s overall storm drainage master plan. GreenWorks’ analysis focused on water quality and water quantity issues pertaining to the watershed. During field visits to each of the stream corridors, we looked for opportunities to increase stream and floodplain storage, stabilize streambank conditions, and improve water quality and habitat. Additionally, GreenWorks’ role included analyzing potential locations for aesthetic improvements, identifying public education opportunities, and helping recommend future development standards for on-site stormwater quantity and quality control. We then developed illustrative maps and a written report, which was presented to the City of Ashland and the public.
