This project, located in the City of Sandpoint Idaho, was composed of two different project sites for which we developed green street design concepts for managing storm water on-site within the public right of way; a new type of infrastructure for the City of Sandpoint. Both of these projects serve as green street pilot projects for the City of Sandpoint. The first site, 6th Avenue, is an historic residential street close to downtown with a well-established street tree canopy. This existing three-block site required careful design in order to retrofit facilities into existing street infrastructure in a way that would compliment the neighborhood. The second project site, a six-blocks section of Washington Avenue, was typical of many streets in Sandpoint that have a rural character with no curb or sidewalks. GreenWorks developed design concepts that presented all new reconfigurations of the street including sidewalks, on-street parking, street trees and green street storm water facilities such as swales and storm water planters.
