Works / Industrial Hyundai “Green” Auto Storage Yard at Terminal 6 / Portland, Oregon

hyundai_terminal6 (2)hyundai_terminal6 (1)GreenWorks, working with a consulting civil engineer was contracted by the Port of Portland to design a new auto storage facility at T-6 adjacent to the Columbia River and Kelly Point Park. A decision was made early on to provide a 40 acre storage yard using porous asphalt pavement to minimize runoff and time-consuming permitting. GreenWorks’ role on the project was to design erosion control/ riparian enhancement along the Columbia River buffer zone; “raingardens” (infiltration planters) for areas intercepting runoff from non-porous areas; swales; and entry landscaping incorporating monument signage and raingardens as design features.
