GreenWorks provided schematic design, construction documents and construction administration for this 250-acre park in Wilsonville, Oregon. The park serves the local community, and adjacent neighborhoods and schools. It features access to natural areas such as restored oak savannah, woodlands, wetlands, and riparian forests. The Tonquin Trail winds its way through the site and provides regional access to the park, while secondary loop trails and forest hiking trails offer addition scenic routes. At the park’s entrance, design imparts a strong sense of place and provides basic amenities like parking, restrooms and a shelter. A gateway interpretive plaza introduces visitors to the life and history of the area, while viewpoints, plazas, bridges, boardwalks and interpretive features throughout the site help visitors enjoy the unique attributes of the park. The design strikes a delicate balance between access and restoration.
