Working with BES staff and an interdisciplinary team of consultants, GreenWorks provided critical peer analysis of the proposed stormwater management strategies for the Taggart D basin. Activities included site analysis for feasibility of the range of green street alternatives in both commercial and residential areas. Issues involved parking impacts, alternatives analysis, cost-estimating, and logisitics of constructing multiple discontiguous facilities within a neighborhood. Significant attention was given to providing accurate cost input that was both at facility s.f. scale, as well as based on a cubic foot of treatment area, which allowed for easier apples-to-apples analysis of options. In the process, GreenWorks also developed a number of aesthetic alternatives that would be appropriate for more residential applications, including innovative materials and configurations that fit the existing neighborhood context, but were also functional and met BES goals.
