Mount Hood Community College Greenway

This trail, trailhead and overlook project will help Metro and the City of Troutdale meet their goals of providing natural area preservation and community access to the Beaver Creek Canyon area. Situated near the corner of SE Stark and Troutdale Road in Troutdale, the project site was purchased by Metro from Mt. Hood Community College. The project is the first phase in the Beaver Creek trail system that will eventually link together Mount Hood Community College, Beaver Creek Canyon, local neighborhoods and the 40 mile regional trail. GreenWorks is providing schematic design, construction documents, permitting and construction administration services for the improvements. Key components of this design effort include an accessible multiuse loop trail, 3 wetland overlooks, benches, picnic tables, bike parking, trailheads, identification of restoration priorities, planting plan and interpretive signage design. The proposed trail and interpretive elements will benefit Troutdale and the surrounding community by providing local and regional multi modal access to open space, recreational and educational opportunities as well as open space and habitat restoration and preservation.
