Chambers Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant

GreenWorks developed schematic design and construction documents for sustainable stormwater strategies and perimeter landscape buffers at the existing Chambers Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (CCWTP) and its planned expansions. The landscape buffer was designed to visually and physically screen the treatment plant, blending it seamlessly with the dramatic landscape of south Puget Sound, nearby land uses, and future on- and off-site development.

The buffer incorporates stormwater management facilities to treat plant runoff, provides new recreation trails that connect to existing networks, and enhances wildlife habitat. It also accommodates infrastructure to support bus traffic and large crowds for major events such as the 2010 U.S. Amateur and the 2015 U.S. Open at the adjacent Chambers Creek Golf Course.

In addition to the perimeter buffer, GreenWorks designed improvements to the plant entrance to enhance visibility and circulation.
