Steve Street Park

Steve Street Park is a new community green space located just north of the Tigard Triangle, expanding the growing network of parks and trails that includes Bagan Park, nearby developing greenspaces, and connections to the Fanno Creek Trail system. The design emphasizes nature-based play and accessible recreation, featuring custom Earthscape elements such as a leaf climber, log piles, a log tunnel, log steppers, notched posts, a leaf wobble board, and a 3-bay swingset with accessible seats, along with an inclusive whirl spinner from Playworld. These features are supported by artificial turf surfacing, engineered wood fiber paths that wind through preserved trees, and log seating repurposed from onsite materials.

Site improvements enhance both functionality and ecological value, including a new hammerhead turnaround for fire and maintenance access, welcoming entry plazas with signage at both the north and south entries, and a new stormwater facility adjacent to the existing wetland. Native trees, understory plantings, and wetland-corridor enhancements strengthen habitat and integrate the park into its natural setting. Additional community amenities—such as an open lawn, picnic shelter, picnic tables, and decorative basalt columns incorporated into seatwalls—create a flexible, inviting neighborhood destination that supports gathering, play, and everyday recreation.
